In the dissertation, it was carried out a comprehensive analysis of the development of the concepts of Western European music pedagogy in the music education system of China (second half of the 20th – beginning of the 21st century), it also was characterized the experience of implementing these concepts for the use of constructive achievements in Ukrainian educational institutions of all levels. The expediency of the study of the mentioned problem is strengthened by the need to overcome the contradictions between: the intensive development of the economic, scientific, technical, and industrial spheres of society's life, which determined the priority of the technocratic approach as a form of social outlook, and the need to increase the rank of the spiritual and aesthetic components in the hierarchy of the basic values of the individual by means of musical art; the significant pedagogical potential of the leading concepts of Western European music pedagogy and the insufficient level of use of the acquired world experience in this direction; the need for creative use in the system of music-pedagogical education of Ukraine of the progressive experience of Chinese teachers in the implementation of advanced ideas of Western European music pedagogy in educational practice and the lack of appropriate organizational and methodological support for this process. 8 Yang Zhang In the dissertation, it was firstly revealed, the stages of development of the concepts of Western European music pedagogy in the system of music education of China in the period of the second half 20th century - the beginning of 21st century; the significance of the concepts of Western European music pedagogy for the development of the theory and practice of music education in the People's Republic of China: enrichment of the content of music education, orientation to the individual, individualization of learning, expansion of the nomenclature of musical instruments in music education, application of effective forms, methods and means of learning. The work also characterizes the peculiarities of teacher training for the practical use of ideas and methods of Western European musical concepts in the process of professional activity; the main directions of creative use of the achievements of Chinese teachers regarding the use of the achievements of Western European pedagogy in the system of music education of Ukraine were highlighted; were specified the essence and content of the main concepts of Western European music pedagogy (K. Orfa, Z. Koday, E. Jacques-Dalcroze). There were gained further development the pedagogical ideas about the methods, forms, and means of implementing Western European musical and pedagogical concepts in the music education system of the People's Republic of China. A significant number (89) of unknown and little-known in Ukraine information sources in the Chinese language were introduced into the scientific circulation, which highlighted various aspects of the problem of the development of musical and pedagogical concepts in the education system of the People's Republic of China, and it was analyzed the theoretical and practical significance of the progressive ideas of Western European musicians-innovators for improving the process of music education and upbringing, also it was presented the experience of their implementation in the Chinese music education system. The practical significance of the research is that the materials and conclusions of the dissertation can be used in the process of teaching lecture and practical classes in pedagogy, higher school pedagogy, history of pedagogy, 9 Yang Zhang comparative pedagogy, teaching methods of musical disciplines; in the development of educational and methodical literature, textbooks, training aids; in the system of professional development of music and pedagogical workers.
