Essay

The relevance of the study of the sociocultural dynamics of migration processes in the conditions of social transitivity of the globalized world is determined by a whole set of factors of the growth of population movements: growth of interstate, interethnic, interreligious conflicts; the threat of local military conflicts expanding to a global level, in particular open Russia's aggression against Ukraine; the general increase in the level of extremism and terrorism in various parts of the world; strengthening of political and socio-economic disparities in the development of various regions of the world; the threat of the spread of epidemics and pandemics, natural and ecological cataclysms and, as a result, the threat of hunger and lack of drinking water for millions of people. The dissertation substantiates the theoretical and methodological principles of the study of the sociocultural dynamics of migration processes in the globalized world, characterizes conceptual approaches to understanding migration processes in the conditions of global social transitivity, defines the conceptual and categorical research apparatus, reveals the features, stages, forms and mechanisms of migration and migration processes in the conditions of industrial society; the specifics, forms and mechanisms of migration processes in the globalized world in the situation of post-industrialism are determined; the essential manifestations of the transformation of migration processes in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic are analyzed; the socio-cultural dynamics of labor migration in modern Ukrainian society is clarified; the peculiarities of the social status and reintegration of internally displaced persons in Ukraine in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war are outlined. The dissertation formulated the conceptual clauses of originality, which correlate with its conclusions. In particular, the understanding that economic, demographic, political (security) and environmental factors were the key factors in the activation of migration processes in an industrial society was deepened; in the period of industrialism, it was labor resources that acquired the status of a global resource, the movement of which in the geographical, socio-economic, scientific and technological space had a decisive influence on the dynamics of social and cultural development not only of separate countries, but also of entire regions. At the same time, in the period of post-industrial society, along with economic factors environmental ones (radical climate change, water shortage, desertification, depletion of natural resources) became key factors in the activation of migration processes. In turn, the global migration crisis of 2011-2018 and the European migration crisis caused by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 proved that unpredictable spontaneous migration processes provoked by wars, economic and environmental cataclysms could have unpredictable socio-economic, political, spiritual consequences of both regional and planetary scale. The dissertation substantiates that in a situation of increasing social transitivity, it is the state and supranational international institutions that should undertake the regulation of the conditions of entry and stay of immigrants in their territory based on national interests and transnational security tasks; an effective migration policy in Ukrainian society should protect the state from the threat of spontaneous illegal migration from third countries, facilitate the return of Ukrainians, primarily labor migrants, refugees and temporarily displaced persons to their homeland, or facilitate the integration of legal Ukrainian migrants into developed societies, provided that their national identity is preserved.
