The thesis presents a theoretical generalization and empirical solution of the scientific problem of the place and importance of spousal coping among the factors of subjective well-being of marriage partners. It theoretically substantiates and empirically defines effective coping of spouses, and outlines the main areas of psychological work on diagnosis (the methodological toolkit of dyadic coping has been adapted) and expansion (teaching) of coping (individual and dyadic) of marriage partners, with the aim of preserving and/or restoring the subjective well-being of marriage partners. Based on the generalization of theoretical and methodological approaches to the understanding of subjective well-being, its conceptual structure is outlined; is described factors of subjective well-being of marriage partners and establishes that spousal coping is one of the most important tools for solving the problem of effective interaction between marriage partners under the influence of stressors (stress, conflicts). Based on the results of in-depth theoretical analysis of spousal coping, its specificity in the family system has been substantiated: the meaning of the concept of «coping» has been established, the types of marriage partners' coping have been described, the features of coping in the family system and its role in the experience of subjective well-being by marriage partners have been revealed. Having analyzed scientific approaches to the interpretation and understanding of marriage partners' coping in the structure of their subjective well-being, taking into account the specifics of the family system and the capability of each partner (as activity actors) to influence their own and their partner's subjective well-being, the theoretical model of marriage partners' coping has been built in the structure of factors of their subjective well-being. To measure the dyadic coping of marriage partners, a full adaptation of the DCI in Ukrainian was carried out. Based on a thorough analysis of empirical data, a model was created of the dynamics in the marital subsystem under the influence of stress and its elimination activating the spouse's coping and/or the individual defense system. The obtained empirical results served as a basis for building a coping model as a factor of subjective well-being of marriage partners. Based on the obtained theoretical and empirical results, recommendations were developed for psychological, psychosocial and psychotherapeutic work with couples in order to effectively adapt, preserve and restore the well-being of marriage partners after a stressful event, and the area of psychoeducational development on the outlined topic was outlined. In view of the new challenges facing Ukrainian families as a result of the fullscale invasion of Ukraine, the results of our study can be used as a basis for the development of psychoeducational programs for effective stress management in families that, as a result of the war, experienced acute and prolonged stress, were separated and need help in readaptation and restoration of their individual and family well-being.
