The concept of identity, pertinent due to its interdisciplinary nature and various globalization processes, offers considerable perspectives for investigation. Religious identity, as a facet of identity, encompasses, on the one hand, the internal component of identity — namely, the values and personal convictions — and, on the other hand, the external component — a specific matrix shaped by society (from a small group to an entire ethnic group), which not only defines an individual’s religiosity but also their integration into the surrounding space. The literary space is a phenomenon that significantly influences the formation of identity through the implicit intentions and inherent potential of the artistic text. When constructing the artistic world of their work, the author, primarily guided by their own convictions, creates characters as unique constructs serving as carriers of a particular worldview and, consequently, identity. Although such identity is a constructed phenomenon, by becoming a “text of culture,” it, along with the entire artistic space of a literary work, reflects current cultural-forming tendencies and actively contributes to their formation.
