The dissertation proposes a comprehensive training program for developing the competence of future physical therapists in professional communication, based on the theoretical generalization of modern scientific approaches to researching the competence of specialists in professional communication. The object of research is the professional communication of physical therapists. The subject of research is the competence of future physical therapists in professional communication. The main goal of the research is to identify the psychological characteristics of the development of competence of future physical therapists in professional communication and to develop and implement a comprehensive training program for developing this competence on this basis. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were set: Define theoretical approaches to researching the competence of future physical therapists in professional communication and clarify the main concepts of the research; Develop a theoretical model of the competence of future physical therapists in professional communication; Identify the level of development of the structural elements of the competence of future physical therapists in professional communication; Develop a comprehensive training program for the development of the competence of future physical therapists in professional communication and experimentally test its effectiveness. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the fact that: For the first time: the concepts of "professional communication of a physical therapist" and "competence of a future physical therapist in professional communication" have been formulated; a theoretical model of competence in professional communication, consisting of cognitive, personal, and behavioral components, has been developed, allowing the investigation of the characteristics of communicative, perceptive, and interactive components of the professional communication of future physical therapists; the level of development of the structural components of the competence of future physical therapists in professional communication has been identified, leading to the conclusion about the necessity of its development through the application of a comprehensive training program; a comprehensive training program for enhancing the level of competence of future physical therapists in professional communication has been developed; Improved: knowledge about the features of professional communication of physical therapists by analyzing its content in different substructures of professional activity and identifying general and specific characteristics; the definition of communicative, perceptive, and interactive competence of physical therapists in professional communication by combining its features with the characteristics of professional activity; Further developed: methodological approaches to researching the psychological characteristics of communication of future physical therapists by developing and testing the effectiveness of a battery of diagnostic methods; the use of training programs to prepare future physical therapists for effective professional activity. The structure of the dissertation research consists of three sections. In the first section - Theoretical and methodological foundations of researching the competence of future physical therapists in professional communication, the results of the analysis of scientific literature on the problem of professional communication as an object of psychological research, competency-based approach in psychological research of professional communication, the psychological characteristics of professional communication of physical therapists are presented.
