The dissertation is devoted to the integral analysis of live football reporting based on the typology of different language means – lexical nominations and text structures.
The object of the research is oral spontaneous broadcast of a football TV reporting. The subject of the research is the structural-systemic, semantic-stylistic and communicative-pragmatic characteristics of lexical nominations and text structures in live football television reporting.
The source base of the study is reports in the Ukrainian language on the TV channels "MEGOGO Football First", "Football 1", "Football 2", "Public Kyiv", "Setanta Sports" and the TV channel of the TV and radio company "Ukraine" during the live reporting of football matches.
The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that, for the first time in Ukrainian linguistics, the need to analyze a live football TV reporting as a type of oral spontaneous speech is motivated, since the language situation in the state depends on the quality of language functioning in all spheres of social activity, in particular, in sports; an integral study of the language of live football TV reporting was carried out in the border area of text linguistics, lexicology, terminology, grammar, linguistic stylistics, media linguistics, and pragmatics; the author's algorithm for the typology of lexical nominations dominant in live football reporting has been implemented; the types of text structures are characterized in their correlation with differential semantic, communicative and pragmatic features of the mass media text, the stylistic potential of lexical nominations and text structures as explicants of imagery is highlighted.
The theoretical value of the dissertation is evidenced by the formulated principles of multi-level research of football television reporting, which combines structural-systemic, semantic-stylistic and communicative-pragmatic approaches to the analysis of linguistic means. The author's conclusions and generalizations deepen knowledge about the specifics of oral sports media discourse; will become the basis for further analysis of spoken Ukrainian speech based on a complex of lexical nominations and text structures, will contribute to solving theoretical questions of text linguistics, linguistic stylistics and pragmalinguistics.
The practical value of the work lies in the fact that the collected material can be used to replenish common language dictionaries, compile a dictionary of football vocabulary, clarify the criteria for socio-normative assessment of the language of football. The materials of the work can be applied in linguistic didactics: in the training of journalists, in the teaching of lexicology, syntax, stylistics, text linguistics at the faculties of philology and journalism of higher education institutions.
Research results.
The study of the football television reporting as a text through cross-level analysis of linguistic phenomena is based on two types of key linguistic units: lexical nominations and text structures. Dominant lexical nominations include football terms, vocabulary with the word "action", emotional vocabulary, native and foreign lexical resources, phraseological units, substandard vocabulary. Lexical nominations in the TV reporting contribute to a clear and imaginative presentation, aimed at quick perception of information about a football match.
As a result of the analysis, text structures were considered as explicants of text features through a system of text categories. Text categories with units of a lower hierarchy were analyzed in three dimensions: in the plane of semantics – text categories of informativeness (subcategories of conceptuality, factuality, implicitness), continuum of events (space and time), discreteness and connectivity; in the perspective of communicativeness – textual categories of anthropocentricity (subcategories of addressability and addressability) and dialogicity (subcategories of interactivity, intertextuality); at the level of pragmatics – the text category of modality (subcategories of referentiality, evaluation, expressiveness). As a result, the correlation of text categories serves as a text-constitutive factor.
The functional potential of figurative language means (metaphorical constructions, epithets, comparisons) is determined by the specific pragmatic orientation of each situation during a football match. It is in the reporting as a text that processes of transition from usual meanings to occasional ones occur, which create new communicative meanings that are perceived by the viewing audience.
