Generalization the results of some scientific methodological approaches regarding the concept essence of ‘the system of economic safety’ made it possible to distinguish the following directions: the system of economic safety as a complex of interrelated measures or elements; as the system that interacts with the environment; as a set of agreed-upon goals and tasks state bodies approved by legislation, as a complex interaction of the object, regulatory framework, interconnected set of actions of state and local authorities, business structures and the population, as a conceptual category. Scientific principals regarding the essence of ‘the system of economic safety’ term as a system of inner subsystem that have resource-based The scientific principles regarding the definition of the essence of the concept of "system of economic security of the city" as the interaction of internal subsystems are developed. These resource-based subsystem ensure the stability of the city such as an urbogeosystem in case of the influence of adverse external factors for further sustainable city development with the justification of the expediency of the selection of individual subsystems, in particular, the social subsystem. Based on the application of a monographic analysis of scientific works devoted to the study of the essence of the concept of "social component of economic security", "social security", "social sector of economic security", the definition of the essence of the concept of "social subsystem of economic security" is further regarded as a subsystem that includes some elements related to social processes and interaction of all urban subsystems as social-economic system.
