Essay

The study of democratic principles and their application has always attracted the attention of leading scientific leaders and analysts of political processes. Today is no exception, as these issues continue to be at the centre of academic and political debate. In turn, civil society is a fundamental component that encompasses various social institutions that operate independently of the state. These are associations of citizens based on common social ties, a high level of education, and political awareness. Deliberative democracy, based on the ideas of communicative philosophy, is seen as the best solution to resolve contradictions in a multicultural society undergoing social and political change. Civil society plays the role of a regulator, influencing government institutions and contributing to the strengthening of social capital. The deliberative model of democracy is seen as a postclassical concept that considers public dialogue to be the highest criterion for the legitimacy of state power. The importance of studying the capabilities of civil society in interaction with the state for a deeper understanding of their relationship is emphasized.
