Essay

ABSTRACT Feng Baojiang , Organizational-creative development of ballet theater in China. - Qualifying scientific work on the rights of a manuscript. Dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty 026 "Stage Art". - Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television named after I. K. Karpenko-Kary, Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. Kyiv, 2024. Relevance of the research. In conditions of multicultural mixing, as a result of globalization of societal life, the author turns to the problem of preservation and development of national art using the example of organizational-creative development of Chinese ballet theater. After the opening of China's borders at the beginning of the XX century, despite integration with Soviet and Western culture, today Chinese ballet theater stands as a unique aesthetic phenomenon of world level. At the same time, in the PRC continues the reform of theater organization and its management system. In these conditions, Chinese ballet theater continues to be on the path of dynamic development, the goal of which is to improve the opportunities to satisfy internal and external cultural needs. For further successful management of this industry, the author proposes to study Chinese theater management, diagnose shortcomings, and propose optimization of management processes in the ballet industry. The relevance of the dissertation is due to the growth of art studies interest to the relationship between the acquired high creative level and the artistic significance of stage products of Chinese ballet theaters with the improvement of theater organization in the PRC. The study of the evolution of Chinese ballet theater is quite interesting and very important for Ukrainian theater studies, art studies, and cultural studies in the context of studying contemporary challenges facing the process of building and transforming ballet and stage art in Ukraine. The absence of similar scientific investigations, where specifically the valuable experience of organizational-creative transformations of ballet theater in China is considered, is a decisive factor in the relevance of the research proposed by the author. Scientific novelty of the obtained results consists in the fact that in the dissertation the author for the first time carries out a comprehensive analysis of organizational-creative development of Chinese ballet theater in a broad socio-cultural context. Research of Ukrainian experts on the history and present of ballet art in China is collected and presented to the Ukrainian scientific community. Periodization of the development of Chinese theater in the context of theater management is specified. Influence of socio-cultural transformations in the PRC on the development of choreographic art is revealed, and the content of reforms in the management of ballet theater is highlighted. Experience of organizing creative-production process of leading ballet companies in the country is systematized, and strategies for further improvement of management of Chinese ballet theater are proposed, taking into account contemporary trends in socio-cultural development. Research results. The results obtained by the author introduce significant historical and art studies material on the topic of creative-organizational activity of Chinese ballet into the Ukrainian scientific circulation. The dissertation research can be used in further investigations in theater studies, art studies, cultural studies, management of performing arts, sinology in secondary and higher education institutions by students and teachers, and will also serve as a basis for strengthening Ukrainian-Chinese cultural exchange and a source for further scientific research. In the first chapter, the dissertation classifies and systematizes the source and theoretical basis. The periodization of ballet development in China is specified, largely due to political and social factors: the beginning of the XX century - 1949 - from the emergence of ballet art in China to the emergence of the People's Republic of China; 1949–1966 - ballet from the formation of the PRC to the beginning of the Cultural Revolution; 1966–1978 - ballet art during the Cultural Revolution; the late 1970s - 1990s - ballet from the beginning of the period of economic reforms and the proclamation of the policy of openness to the end of the XX century; the beginning of the 2000s to the present - the period of functioning of the ballet theater in the PRC. It is noted that in the first half of the XX century, individual commercial ballet troupes operate in China. They are oriented towards a small audience of intellectuals. Professional Chinese ballet theater emerges after the proclamation of the PRC and under the influence of Soviet experience becomes mass art, very important for the state. Choreographic education and its own ballet school emerge.
