The dissertation proposes a solution to the pressing issue of emotional health among contemporary Ukrainian society’s military personnel and psychotherapeutic conditions for its enhancement in otolaryngology. The theoretical approaches to understanding the psychological peculiarities of emotional health are synthesized. A conceptual model of researching the specifics of emotional health manifestation is constructed. Methods for investigating emotional health and probable psycho-physiological and emotional personality determinants are developed and tested. The peculiarities of emotional health manifestation among military personnel with otolaryngological diseases are studied, depending on the level of its expression, the pecifics of disease localization, and gender. A system of humor-based psychocorrection is devised and tested for enhancing the emotional health of military personnel with otolaryngological diseases in the conditions of inpatient treatment.
It is determined that emotional health is a specific evaluative subjective reflection of the functioning of a person’s sensory sphere, accompanying changes in the organism or its environment and carrying information of varying degrees of awareness of their significance to the individual, at the level of represented complex feelings ranging from positively comfortable to negatively discomforting emotional states. Direct and mediating psychological characteristics have been analyzed. The former group encompasses energy, good mood, happiness, tranquility, serenity, life satisfaction, stable sense of emotional comfort, and an optimistic outlook on the future. The latter includes social adaptability, empathy, emotional maturity, and positive orientation. Concepts within structural, procedural, multifactorial, and integrative approaches have been examined, allowing the identification of the latter as the most promising for identifying patterns of emotional health changes in patients with otolaryngological disorders. Factors of emotional health are described, divided into favorable (resources) and unfavorable, internal and external groups.
A model for studying the specifics of emotional health manifestation in military personnel with otolaryngological disorders has been constructed, based on component-structural and procedural approaches, the principle of integrativity, enabling the examination of emotional health considering its variability, dynamics, and subjectivity.
