Hanushchak R. Psychological coordinates of the lifeworld of social media users.

The thesis presents the results of theoretical and empirical research into the interaction of the individual's lifeworld with modern online technologies. The relevance of the study is due to the need for scientific understanding of the psychological aspects of using the Internet and social networking services, given that the role of the virtual world in the existence of modern man has been steadily growing in recent years, and existing trends suggest that this problem will not lose its significance for a long time. The problem of human interaction with online services became particularly acute after the start of a full-scale invasion, when social media and messengers began to be actively used by the enemy to wage information wars and carry out special information and psychological operations in order to sow disbelief, panic, split society, undermine trust in the military-political authorities, etc. A detailed analysis of the concept of the lifeworld and its formation as a psychological category was carried out. A theoretical model of the lifeworld of the individual was presented and substantiated, psychological coordinates of the lifeworld were identified, which reflect the internal conditions of the formation of the individual lifeworld of a person and help to understand how a person perceives, interprets and reacts to his life experience. The peculiarities of the relationships between psychological coordinates and functions of the lifeworld were revealed. Five types of lifeworlds were distinguished: harmonious (balanced) lifeworld, highly adaptive hedonistic lifeworld, moderately adaptive future-oriented lifeworld, low-adaptive past-and-present-oriented lifeworld, disharmonious (dysfunctional) lifeworld. Additionally, a psychological profile of each type was created based on the Big Five personality traits. The nature of the activity of different types of lifeworlds in social networking services was investigated. Also, based on the indicators of this activity, four types of social media users were identified: «active» («motivated»), «strangers», «true friends» and «infrequent visitors». The features of the psychological coordinates and functions of the lifeworld in different types of social media users were separately investigated. The nature of the relationships between the types of the lifeworld of the individual and the types of social media users was analyzed, in particular, it was investigated which types of social media users are most often found among representatives of the corresponding lifeworlds. Based on this analysis, a comprehensive empirical model was created that summarizes the results of the study of the psychological coordinates of the lifeworld of social media users. It includes types of lifeworlds identified based on the analysis of psychological coordinates and functions, with an additional psychological profile of each type described based on the Big Five personality traits, types of users identified based on the analysis of the features of using social networking services, as well as their most significant relationships with each other. The results of the study of the psychological coordinates and functions of the lifeworld of social media users can be applied in the following social spheres: business and the labor market, marketing, pedagogical activities, psychotherapy and clinical practice, promotion of media literacy and information hygiene, etc. In general, the thesis research outlines a large layer of problems associated with the interaction of a modern person with the latest information technologies.
