Idioms with ethnic names. The main task of the dissertaion is to investigate structural and semantic peculiarities of idioms with ethnic names in the Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, English and French languages. Methods of investigation are comparative, historical, discriptive. Idioms with ethnic names have been compiled, translated and desсribed, interlinguistic parallel lines and relations have been built, the most frequent national names in the national phraseological systems have been found. The area of usage is scientific work of students, sociolinguistics, translation, lexicography.
