Essay

The thesis is devoted to the problems of comparative calvestigation of word change system in the Russian and inAbkhazian languages. On the materials of bilingual fiction, periodical press, lexicographical textbooks grammati characteristics of the noun in the Russian and Abkhazian languages are determined and analyzed, general and specific features of grammatical categories (gender, number, case, class) are defined, the universal character of the above mentioned categories is considered. It is determined that complex investigation of the noun and its morphological and syntactical categories (gender, number, case, class) is possible only when syntagmatic aspects of the problem is acknowledged as a priority.
