Essay

Normal sperm hyperactivation and capacitation are accompanied by free radical production. The lowest total sperm count and lowest normal sperm concentration was reported in the infertile patient group. A high ROS level accompanied the sperm quality decrease. The highest level of ROS production was registered in the samples with the lowest motility. Most likely the source of high ROS production in sperm with low quality was spermatozoa with decreased motility. There was a positive correlation between the chemiluminescence of blood serum and seminal plasma.
