The dissertation deals with the problem concerning testing listening comprehension skills during the second year of a Pedagogical University at Non-Language Faculties according to an interactional approach. Testing listening is regarded as a means of management in the process of study. The peculiarities of testing listening are determined, the listening skills as testing targets are classified on the basis of a level approach to text comprehension, the criteria of audiotext selection for testing are concretized. The methods of testing listening are developed. They allow to realize successful testing and help to provide effective management of listening comprehension study process. As a result of research a construction of communicative test items is scientifically substantiated, a test item pool is created, a useful test aimed to measuring the level of students listening skills during a thematic cycle is constructed, the technology of testing during the process of study is developed. The developed meth odical recommendations in testing listening comprehension will provide its effective realization.
