The object of investigation is the professional- pedagogical preparing the students of higher educational institutions. The purpose of investigation is to ground theoretical essence of the pedagogical self-government; to elucidate the conditions, ensuring efficiency of mastering the students its functions in the sphere of the professional activity. The methods of investigation are theoretical, empirical and statistical. The theoretical results and the novelty is theoretically grounded and proved the necessity of special students' preparation to the realization functions of pedagogical self-government; worked out and scientifically -grounded the conceptual model of self-government in the sphere of the professional activity of the teacher; revealed the main components and functions of pedagogical self-government indexes and levels of their realizations, determined didactical conditions, providing high preparations efficiency of future specialists to execution the functions of pedagogical self-government . Practical results and the novelty. The methods of the level diagnostics of mastering by the teachers of self-government functions in the sphere of professional activity was created; the technology of preparatory students to pedagogical self-government was s approved; elaborated methodical recommendations on renovation the contents and the way of organization education- professional- activity of students in the process of passing educational practice and studying the pedagogical disciplines.
