The Object is the legal nature, subject and problems of normative regulation of the procedural status of a person, conducting inguiry. The purpose is to analyse the state of institution of the inguiry in the criminal proceedings and the procedural status of a person, conducting an inguiry, to determine and to make scientific basis of the complex of propositions which are directed to the improvement of the Criminal Procedure Law of Ukraine and of the law - using practice on this issue. The dialectic method of learning the reality, systematic and structural, historical, comparative and legal, statistical, sociological, logical and juridical are the methods. The complex examination of the procedural status of a person, conducting an inguiry is made at the theoretic level in the native science of the Criminal Procedure for the first time. The conseguences and recomendations, formulated in the dissertation, may be used in the improvement of the Criminal Procedure Law, in scientific research work, in the s tudy. The sphere of using is the law creative activity, scientific and research activity, the study.
