Essay

Dissertation is dedicated to the history of establishment and peculiarities of development of Ukrainian terminology in the branch of physical culture and sport. The purpose of the given research was to find out historical peculiarities and tendencies of Ukrainian sport terminology development. Scientific novelty of the obtained results: research in the sphere of Ukrainian sport terminology was done for the first time since Ukraine gained its independence; analysis of the existing source base of creation and development of Ukrainian special terminology as well as the peculiarities of compiling dictionaries of sport terms was done from the point of view of objective scientific analysis; the data of physical culture theory and general linguistics concerning the development of term system in the branch of physical culture in different historical periods was supplemented.
