Investigation object is wave processes during regular waves diffraction on a ship stranded in a shallow water conditions. Investigation point is determination of small craft motion characteristics on a complex wave field near big ship. Analytic investigation method is the matched asymptotic expansion method. Model tests are performed in model basin for diffraction wave field in a shallow water investigation. Diffraction velocity potential in the "near field" is estimated firstly. Engineering technique, which includes procedures for calculatung characteristics of diffraction wave field formed by arbitrary angle incoming regular waves in a shallow water, and small craft motions in a three-dimentional wave field is performed. Methods were used by UkrNDIMF and during salvage operations carried out by UBSSF ChAB. They are intended for maritime design projects mainly. Also adaptation for hydroengineering building is possible.
