The dissertation deals with the problem concerning teaching professionally oriented written communication during the fifth year at Linguistic University, students that study English as a second foreign language. The methods of teaching professionally oriented written communication are theoretically substantiated. The aim and the content of teaching are determined. The spheres of written communication being used by the teachers of foreign language, language and speech material of the professionally oriented written forms are selected. The objects of interlinguistic inteference are concretized. The habits and skills of the professionally oriented written communication are classified. The communicative intentions and acts of its realization are developed. As a result of research the system of exercises to teach professionally oriented written communication is created and scientifically substantiated. The complex of exercises to teach Project Statement writing is developed. The effectiveness of thelatter c omplex is verified and confirmed during the experimental teaching. The developed methodical recommendations how to apply the complex of exercises are practically used in the process of teaching to the 5th year students at Linguistic University.
