Demkovych L. Activities of I.I.Schmalgausen in the Context of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the 20th

The dissertation is dedicated to investigation of scientific and pedagogical activities of the outstanding Ukrainian scientist - zoologist and evolutionist, academician of All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (1922) and of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1935) I. I.Schmalgausen. The scientific and pedagogical activities of I.I.Schmalgausen met the actual problems of reconstructing educational system in Ukraine and was aimed at solving the fundamental social and scientific tasks. The scientific and educational works are a valuable source of ideas and thoughts related to comparative anatomic studies of spine animals, growth and differentiation (form - creating) of animal organisms, problems of organism as the whole in individual and historical evolution, ways and conformities of evolution process, origin of surface spine animals, contribution of I.I.Schmalgausen in developing a modern synthetic theory of evolution, cybernetic problems of biology, problems of selection and domestication of agricultural animal
