Essay

The dissertation covers the problems of scientific grounding and improvement of out-patient medical care, provided for children on the level of a district medical complex of large industrial town. It has been shown, that medical care provision system for children is characterized by a high level of pediatric service scattering, its insufficient medical effectiveness, by negative tendencies in children's health. On the basis of a complex socio-hygienic research the expedience of pediatric service gradual reorientation for primary medical care on the basis of family medicine has been defined; the models for providing primary medical care to children have been scientifically grounded and worked out on the stage of transition to family medicine. The attitude of physicians and patients to these models has also been determined. The principally new structural and functional model for children's outpatient's clinic on the level of a district medical complex of large industrial town has been worked out and impl emented, as well as modern medical and organizatio-nal technologies for running children's prophylactic examinations. Their effective-ness evaluation has been carried out. The effectiveness of the proposed organizatio-nal model for children's out-patients' clinic has been proved by extending pediatricians' professional duties, improvement of diseases revealing, pediatricians getting free from unpeculiar duties of mid-level health practitioners and decrease of children's population needs in specialized and in-patient medical care.
