Essay

The thesis offers a theoretically grounded and experimentally verified methodology of teaching future teachers of English free retelling. In the work the essence of free retelling, its place and role in the system of work aimed at developing of oral connected speech skills has been defined; the requirements to the texts for teaching free retelling have been formulated. The paper presents the system of exercises which includes two types: 1) preparatory exercises aimed at skill formation of linguistic presentation of own monologue and 2) exercises for retelling aimed at skill formation of organizing the contents of the retelling. The tasks stimulating the adaptation of linguistic form of a text as well as of its contents have been recommended. The system of exercises supposes the consecutive and stage-by-stage formation and development of free retelling habits and skills
