3. The object of study - Philosophic education as social and cultural phenomenon. The objective of study - the research of philosophical education as a socio-cultural phenomenon through the development of self-criticism of philosophical thought in relation to one's own ability to provide the processes of up-bringing and education; the establishment of the main functional possibilities of philosophical education in the field of culture and their description via anthropological interpretation. Methods - complementary combination of historical- cultural, anthropological and hermeneutic approaches to the investigation of the problem of philosophical education was used. The study of the phenomenon of philosophical education is realised through the analysis of its historical development and anthropological interpretation. Research results: It has been proved that in the field of culture philosophical education acts as an open system integrating world outlook, cognitive and axiological aspects of spiritual culture. It has also been shown that under modern condition philosophical education encourages the formation of world outlook culture that can ensure the survival of mankind. It has been demonstrated that mastery of philosophy is possible with the use of the dialogue method which is based on the existential of the person. Practical importance of the results lies in the possibility of their direct application in reforming philosophical education in higher educational establishments and the system of educational as a whole.
