Essay

The dissertation presents a complex research on Ukrainian satirical and humorous press in Halychyna in the between-war period. It has generalized the experience of its predecessors which were critical periodicals of Austro-Hungarian period. It also considered the general aspects of formation, development and functional conditions of this kind of press. The author has examined the content of periodicals, defined hierarchy of the themes, analyzed the characteristics of satirical interpretation of informative chronological documents. As well as he cleared up a role of the press in the intensification of the process of Ukraine's national development.
