Putsov O. The system of weight-lifters' selection taking into account the model characteristics

System of leading weight-lifters of Ukraine selection. Improvement of the system of selecting the leading weight-lifters of Ukraine for major competitions of the Olympic cycle with account for model characteristics of the world best weight-lifters. Methods of study: review and analysis of scientific and methodical literature, questioning and interviewing, pedagogical observations, method of weight-lifters' control testing in order to determine the level of special physical fitness and morphofunctional status. Tendencies of weight-lifting development in Ukraine and the world as well as principal factors influencing the level of competition between the world best teams, such as increase of number of international competition participants, constant growth of result density, etc., were determined. Model indices of competitive activity, special physical fitness and morphofunctional status of the elite world and Ukrainian weight-lifters were elaborated. Complex system for estimating criteria of selection andpreparedness of Ukrainian weight-lifters for major competitions of annual macrocycle realized by means of comparing individual testing indices and group model characteristics has been suggested. Suggested system of selection has been introduced into training process of weight-lifters of the national team of Ukraine who won medals at the World and European Championships.
