Object: symbolical aspect of transformation of contempoгагу Ukrainian society. Purpose: The elaboration of theoretic-methodological approach to the analysis of the perceptions of social space as a display of social transforma tion's symbolical aspect. Methods: secondary analysis of empirical sociological information, correlative and factor analysis. Results: the theoretic-methodological approach to the analysis of the perceptions of social space as a display of social transformation's symbolical aspect is elaborated: the methodology of understanding of social transformation by studying of the society's perceptions of social space. The principle that the perceptions of social space are displayed in the senses of social positions expressed in their nominations is argued. The methodical ways of studying of the perceptions of social space as the space of distinctions between social positions expressed in their nominations are elaborated. The empirical characteristics of the changes of the perceptions of social space are given.
