It was established that melanin obtained from Nadsoniella nigra var. hesuelica increased motility of stomach and duodenum and also. Melanin diminished stimulated gastric secretion in dogs and rats. Upon this it decreased the volume of juice and debit of acid of histamine gastric secretion and didn't influence on debit of pepsin. Melanin didn't influence on basal gastric acid secretion in rats. Melanin had pronounced cytoprotective action on gastric mucosa in rats which was accompanied by diminishing of its injury evoked by immobilization stress, serotonine, norephinephrine and ethanol. Melanin inhibited the process of lipide peroxidation in gastric mucosa and enhanced the activity of enzymes of antioxidant system.
