object -impact of natural factors on the transport-operational condition of highways; objective - development of the method of the road regionalization for the definite territories taking into consideration the conditions of highways operation proceeding from the established regularities according to which the territorial natural systems and objects affect the highway transport-operational status; methods - the natural processes that affect the transport-operational status of highways were investigated using the method of system analysis, to define the regions of territories taking into consideration conditions of the highways operation the methods described in dissertation have been developed, these methods are based on the assessment of degree of influence produced by the natural factors on the coefficient of availability of the average design speed. The method of mathematical modeling on computer has been used to substantiate the computed values of the thickness of water layer in case of rainy weather, results - the new data related to the theory of highway operation that specify the regularities of impact produced by the territorial natural systems and objects on transport-operational status of highways have been obtained. The mathematical model simulating formation of the water layer on the surface of a coating during heavy rains has been specified, the investigation results are of practical value for the highways of different countries, including Ukraine; novelty - the regularities according to which the territorial natural systems and objects affect the transport-operational status of highways and safety of the transport traffic have been summarized; the criterion used for the definition of taxonometric units of the highway regionalization taking into consideration conditions of the highway operation - increasing the level of the safe transport traffic subjected to the influence of the natural conditions has been substantiated; the technique used for the highway regionilization of territories takinginto consideration the highway operation conditions has been improved; implementation - the improved technique used for the highway regionalization of territories taking into consideration the highway operation condition in Nepal (as an example) has been tested; the scientific research paper "Optimization of distribution of the resources required for the highway operation in different regions of Nepal" ordered by Akela Nirman Sewa, Ltd Co. (Nepal) has been fulfilled; field - this technique can be used by highway enterprises that make part of the public highway service of Ukraine and also by system of the highway operation of the Ministry of Transport of Nepal
