In the thesis the psychological peculiarities, dinamics of professional - cognitive need of the future teachers of special comprehensive schools during the learning process in pedagogical high school are studied, the essence and structure of the need are revealed, the empirical data and the levels of professional - cognitive need development are detected and substantiated experimentally. The adequate methods of invistigation need control program in the educational process of pedagogical high school are eleborated and scientifically substantiated. The professional - cognitive need of the future teachers of special comprehensive schools develops to the extent of their professional formation in pedagogical high school, provides a professional - individual stability in the face of the negative factors, allows to master the professional knowledge successfully.
