Essay

There is a complex research of the Ukrainian press of the Galician district towns in 1920-30-ties in this thesis, an experience of this press's predecessors - newspapers and magazines of the epoch of Austrian and Hungarian Empire and of the period of struggle for the state independence and unity of the ethnic Ukrainian areas (1917-1920) is reflected and generalized, the general features of its formation, development and functioning are shown. The main problems and subject aspects of the text publications are studied and analyzed, the priority of newspaper genres is determined, this press's place and role in creating the national self-consciousness of the inhabitants of the area, activization of the Ukrainian movement in Galicia are ascertained.
