This dissertation is dedicated to the problems of the curiosity forming in adolescents-students of secondary schools. The more precise definition of the concept "curiosity " is grounded, it is emphasized that curiosity is a systemic quality of a personality; it provides the personality's readiness to learn new information. The generalized characteristic of adolescent curiosity peculiari-ties is given. The psychological structure of adolescents' curiosity is defined, levels of its development are clarified on the basis of intensity and variety indices. Psychologic-pedagogical conditions and means of the activization students' curiosity development. The diagnostic procedure is developed and approbated, directed at curiosity dynamics study in the course of educational process. Moreover, the complex program "The activisation of adoles-cent curiosity development in the educational process" is developed. On the basis of the experiment the influence of means of metaphor on adolescents curiosity development inthe educational process both for humanitarian and for scientific and mathematic subjects is grounded.
