Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the research of the spring calendar cycle terminology of different structural languages in genetic and semantic aspects taking into account extra linguistic factors. The dissertation represents general Eastern Slavic and autonomous ritual terms of the spring cycle (including dialect), and also independent Urumian and Rumeian terms of the same cycle. Parent-Slavic lexemes prove to be genetic basis of the Eastern Slavic ritual term-systems of the spring calendar cycle. Quite a number of words were inherited from all Indo-European language, there is an insignificant part of foreign borrowings. The genetic structure of Urumian and Rumeian term-system is not uniform, combined, as it contains the units of Greek and Turkic origin.
