Essay

The Object of research is a spatial heterogeneity of soils chemical structure. Purposes of research are the determination of spatial heterogeneity formation mechanisms of soils chemical composition and the evaluation of soil resistance against pollution. Methods are field, experimental, analytical, cartographic, and statistical. Theoretical results: influence of soil-ecological condition on heavy metals content in the Forest-steppe soils was determined. Practical results: methodical aspects of soil monitoring were substantiated; the method of soil ecological stability estimation was verified. Novelty: the idea of soil barrier function was advanced, catenary heterogeneity mechanisms of soil mineralogical structure were analysed. Degree of implementation: the results were used for the modification of 2 methods attested by UAAS and the investigation data were included into the GIS “Ukrainian soils”. Area of application are soil science, biogeochemistry, monitoring
