The dissertation is dedicated to multisided research of crafts and procuring of rural population of the Middle Dnieper Region in 9th - 13th centuries. The author gathered archeological artifacts of the mentioned topic. These artifacts represent raw materials, instruments and accessories, industrial buildings, semi-finished products, finished products, industrial defective goods and rejects. The author held the general research of different types of crafts and procuring on the base of analysis of archeological data, ethnographic observations and messages of written origins. The research of crafts and procuring is done according to their production stages. The comparative analysis with the appropriate types of production in ancient Russian towns and villages is held. The author investigated the ratio between different types of crafts and procuring and their role in economy of rural population of Middle Dnieper Region.
