Object of studies - system of rehabilitative measures for patients with injuries of the lower thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, character of recovery period course. Purpose of work - to develop and best differentiated complex methods of recovery therapy of the consequences of the lower thoracic and lumbar vertebrae injuries by means of physical rehabilitation in order to enhance the efficiency of thematic patients' treatment. Methods of studies: study and analysis of special scientific and methodical literature, questionnaires, pedagogical observation, clinical methods of studies, computer reovasography, methods of mathematical statistics. Scientific novelty of the Dissertation consists in substantiation and elaboration of the original complex utilization of remedial gymnastics exercises and nontraditional physical rehabilitation methods for patients with traumatic injuries of the lower thoracic and lumbar vertebrae. Information about changes in local motor activity, indices of central and peripheral hemodynamics during the recovery period depending on the terms of thematic patients' rehabilitation has been supplemented. Suggested complex programmes of physical rehabilitation for patients with injuries of the lower thoracic and lumbar vertebrae have been introduced into practice of work of the Rehabilitation Department and Specialized Clinics of Spinal Pathology of the Institute of Neurosurgery named after A.P.Romodanov of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. It has allowed to reduce significantly the recovery period. Complex studies of the concerned contingent of patients have shown statistically confirmed advantages of suggested physical rehabilitation programme as compared to generally applied means and methods of physical medicine. Suggested programme of physics'! rehabilitation may be recommended for utilization in respective medical institutions and sanatoria.
