Essay

The dissertation contains theoretical study of speech problem and its development in the middle of the XXth century in national and world psychology by the analysis of works written by Ukrainian scientists B.F.Bayev and I.O.Synytsya. The central subject of researches on speech problem was determined and systematized. Its further analysis permitted to assert the existence of three basic directions in scientific searches: relations between thinking and speech; internal speech; external speech. The analysis of B.F.Bayev's works showed that for the first time in national psychology he'd carried out all-round investigation of internal speech and created his original conceptual model, the functional approach being its initial position. At present the problem of internal speech is closely connected with the one of intellectual and moral reflection. The analysis of I.O.Synytsya's scientific works permitted to assert that for the first in Ukrainian psychological science he'd carried out the complex study of specific features and types of teenagers' written speech (taking in consideration some aspects of their oral speech); revealed the phenomena of dominance of emotional or logic components in its structure; morphological and syntactic peculiarities of teenagers' oral speech. It was revealed that the scientist's ideas were developed effectively by the modern investigators.
