Tstyana N. Typology of Language Mistakes and the way to Correct them while Editting journalistic materials

The paper focuses on the important problem of presslinguistics: phenomenon of language mistakes projected on the language of mass-media. The author works out the constructive typology of non-standard use of language, defines the basics of the linguistic theory that explains the great number of mistakes detected in journalistic materials. This theory helps to adeguately evaluate language from the point of view of its use: standard or non-standard and its functional appropriateness and to find the causes of mistakes generation. The author gives the complex analysis of orthographic, lexical, morphological, word-building, syntactic and syncretic non-standard use of the language, singles out and characterises the subtypes of the mistakes. Much attention is given to working out the criteria for detecting language mistakes while editting journalistic materials. The editor's anti-mistakes apparatus presenting the data about contemporary mass-media typical non-standard use of the language is given in the dissertation.
