Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the investigation of the transformation processes of the language sign – colour designation into colour symbol through verbalization of cultural and emotional concepts. In the dissertation there were examined sources and means of forming symbolic semantics of colour designations, was given the definition of colour symbol and were revealed its universal and specific features, the attempt being made to present its classification parameters. There were shown peculiarities of verbal colour symbols functioning in Spanish, Ukrainian and Russian languages, their analysis being done from the point of view of their content characteristics.
