Essay

The PhD thesis represents historical-scientific analysis of M.F.Kaschenko's activity, doctor of medicine and zoology, who was a member of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Present work is dedicated to study his works on microscopy, embryology, histology, zoogeography and practice zoology, acclimatization of plants, theory of Darwin. It focuses on his ideas in field of gerontology and ecology, organizing work for establishing of Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. The PhD thesis analyzes Kaschenko's pedagogical works, which may be useful for modern educational process. They consider his activity in scientific societies and organizing of museums.
