The thesis is devoted to complex analysis of the history of development, actual state and the nearest prospects of development of the legal status of indigenous peoples under public international law. The aim of the research is to formulate theoretical concepts and practical recommendations towards the development of the theory of international law, further improvement of the international and national law provisions, their application and strengthening effectiveness of the fulfilment of the indigenous rights. Conclusions and proposals formulated in the thesis are a valuable contribution to the theory and practice of international law and can be used in continuous legislative efforts in the field of international and national regulation of indigenous rights. Certain positions of the thesis have disputable character and can be used in the future scientific research. The results of the work can be used by students and lecturers of law departments of universities when studying "International Law" course,as well as by practitioners.
