Essay

The two main approaches to the sign are analyzed in the dissertation: the denotative and the structural and axiological. It's marked that denotative model was not worked out for culture complexes. It is marked that structural and axiological model includes natural language and cultural phenomena into the sphere of semiotic analysis. Syntax model generalizes the denotative and the structural аnd axiological approaches to sign on the base of bringing into the arsenal of semiotic analysis the two new terms: "syntax" and "semiotic ability".
