Object - development of system of higher bodies of public administration of education in Ukraine; aim - revelation and scientific-theoretical substantiation features and basic tendencies of development of public administration of education in Ukraine (1946-2001); definition opportunity of use of experience of this period in modern conditions; methods - concrete-searching, historical-structural, chronological, problem-scientifically, prediction; novelty - for the first time the complete scientific analysis of educational policy, legislation, development of public administration of education in Ukraine (1946-2001) is carried out; retrospective image of system of public administration of education evolution with determination of modern condition and outlook development is supplemented; results - on the basis of determined analysis, concrete historical circumstances the basic periods and stages of system of public administration of education evolution are determined and scientifically proved with the framework of periodization available for today; interpretation tendencies, principles, regularity of development of system of public administration of education are acquired the further development.
