Galyna V. Innovative processes in modern media text (functional-linguistic aspects)

The investigation of the latest processes which occur in the language of Ukrainian press of the end of the XX and the beginning of the XXI centuries has been carried out in the given decertation. Modern state has been determined and main tendencies of the development of the language of Ukrainian periodic press have been analysed. Neologic vocabulary functioning on the pages of media text of the latest decades has been generalized and systematized; main causes of stirring up of borrowings in modern Ukrainian literary language have been cleared up. Word-building peculiarities of neologisms which appeared as the result of word-building on the basis of Ukrainian have been analysed in the work. In the thesis the great attention is paid to the description of the main lexical means of expressivity of modern journalistic style. Frequency dictionary of the usage of actual vocabulary is modern Ukrainian mass media which is based on the analysis of nearly 800 media texts has been composed.
