Filina G. The state regulation of foreign economic activity.

The thesis is devoted to the research of the problems of state regulation of foreign economic activity as well as to the working out of measures for improving of existing methods of regulations in this field. In most cases the level of foreign economic relations of the country is indicative of the level of its economic development. At present different methods of state regulation of foreign economic activity are used in Ukraine but their usage is not sufficient enough. That is why the improvement of the system of state regulation of foreign economic relations of the country is especially important at the moment. The historical experience of state regulation of foreign economic activity proves that the overcoming of crisis proceedings in Ukraine is possible when a mixed model of protectionism and free trade is applied with the prevalence of the first one. The basis of foreign economic activity of a state is a clear-cut and definite regional policy in the field of carrying on trade and attracting foreigninvestment. In Ukraine the regions must have some independence when conducting foreign transactions, but the general management must be centralized at the national level. It will make it possible to raise the efficiency of state regulation of foreign trade. To make the foreign economic activity more efficient it is necessary to define its perspective directions. These directions may be defined with the help of the analysis of the condition of different branches of industry in different regions of Ukraine. This analysis makes it possible to make a conclusion that the complex of measures for state regulations of foreign economic activity must include measures for development of territorial-industrial complexes on the engineering basis, promotion of domestic producers of given products, improvement of investment climate in the country. The creation of favourable conditions for attracting foreign investments will let us improve the existing facilities, get new technologies and use the advanced world experience. The methods of raising the efficiency of measures of state regulation of foreign economic activity is presented in the thesis. The methods from the presented complex are worked out in detail and described representing the set of instruments for support of making decisions for working our foreign economic strategy at national and regional levels.
