Essay

The thesis suggests to assess the problems of functional peculiarities of emmetropic and myopic eyes visual perception in schoolchildren. The age dynamics of visual acuity and its individual threshold components, contrast sensitivity, colour vision, binocular vision have been proved to occur in schoolchildren. The age indices range of those visual functions were determined for the children aged 7-9, 10-13 and 14-16 years old, respectively. The level of visual acuity, minimum separable, contrast sensitivity, perception of red and blue colours disorders in acquired myopia proved to be inversely proportional to the age of schoolchild. The contact correction has been substantiated to lead in schoolchildren of all age groups with myopia of all degrees.
