Mikheyeva O. The role of international law in the customs and tariff regulation of the international trade of Ukraine.

The present dissertation is a comprehensive study of the customs and tariffs regulation applied to the international trade both in Ukraine and on the international level. It is focused on the legal nature of the customs and tariffs regulation of the international trade. The dissertation defines basic criteria for the customs classification. Comparative analysis of the customs and tariff regulation and non-tariff methods of the international trade regulation is presented in the work together with the analysis of importance of the customs and tariffs regulation of the international trade. Besides, analysis of the fundamental stages of the customs and tariffs regulation development in Ukraine is presented in the work. The dissertation sets forth a study of the national legislation of Ukraine along with the international law as applied to the customs and tariffs regulation of the international trade. The possible negative and positive consequences for development of the Ukrainian international trade are analysed in connection with the objective of Ukraine to join the GATT/WTO system and the European Community.Particular recommendations on the issues of improvement, adaptation and unification of the national legislation in the sphere of regulation of the international trade of Ukraine are suggested in the research.
