Essay

Topicality of the research and of the chosen theme is emphasised by the psychological moment of revival of entrepreneurship in Ukraine, which is exercised through the assignment to one person of all the functions associated with the firm's activity: those of entrepreneur, owner, manager and executor. The research consists of introduction, four chapters, conclusions, bibliography and appendices. The thesis deals with the data accumulated in the psychology of entrepreneurship that make it possible to single out specific personality structures determining a person's aptitude for successful entrepreneurial activity (K.Vosper, R.H.Brockhaus, P.S.Horwitz, J.Potter, etc.). The study of psychological peculiarities of the people displaying entrepreneurial activity was conducted with the application of scientific principles of general structural regularities of management systems, terminological formulation of psychological theory of activity elaborated by S.L.Rubinstein, S.L.Vygotsky, A.N.Leontiyev, B.F.Lomov,the individuality concept advanced by B.G. Ananiyev, B.S.Merlin, etc. Thus, the research resulted in determining that entrepreneurs of Ukraine are more independent of environmental factors as the their success and luck; if compared with representatives of other social groups, entrepreneurs are endowed with predominant internal locus of control. Women-entrepreneurs are more aware of their problems and appreciate themselves higher than women-non-entrepreneurs.
