This dissertation represents a monograph-type study of the whole range of relevant theoretic and practical legal aspects of the justification of decisions in Ukrainian criminal procedure. The author develops a system of notions that is common for the justification of all procedural acts. She also looks at the definition of the concept, contents and essence of the justification of procedural decisions, shows its logic, gnostic and psychological nature, typical features and functional and special purpose. The author specifies the object and the limits of this type of activity. She shows the essence and the structure of the process of justifying criminal procedure decisions. She establishes the ways of justifying criminal procedure decisions and the whole range of standards that this activity as well as the justification of the final decision should meet. The author develops methodological recommendations as to the optimum use of theoretic provisions on justifying criminal procedure decisions in the practices of the inquiry and investigation agencies and the court. She makes research-based suggestions aimed at improvement of the present legislation and development of the new Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine
