Essay

The dissertation deals with questions of studying general regularities of the role of prostaglandins in regulating the chronorhythms of the renal functions as well as a correlation between the functional condition of the pineal body and synthesis of prostaglandins. It has been established for the first time that prostaglandins are very important autocoid factors of regulating chronorhythms of the excretory, ion-regulating, acid-producing renal functions. It has been demonstrated that the effecfs of the indometacin blockade of the prostaglandin synthesis depend on the functional activity of the pineal body. Indometacin blockade of the synthesis of prostaglandins under conditions of pineal body hypofunction results in more marked changes of the integral characteristics of chronorhythms of the investigated indices of the renal functional state compared with the blockade of prostaglandin synthesis against a background of pineal bogy hyperfunction. The changes of the quantitative parameters of the chronorsof the excretory, ion-regulating and acid-producing functions of the kidneys dealt with in the research envisage the expediency of bringing up-to-date the methods of early diagnostics and prevention of renal diseases.
